Virtua Tennis 2 is a must have sports game.
4-Player multi-tap (slot 1).
Alternative: Virtua Tennis 2009 PS3/PC/X360 (avoid Virtua Tennis 4) To prevent low frame-rate on Win10: enable DirectPlay (& .NETfx3.5) and restart, use a NoDVD (compat. mode Win7 and run as admin.), disable V-sync, uninstall Virtua Tennis 3.
If you want a sim then: Top Spin 4 (or TS1), Tennis Elbow 4 (or TE2013 Maxou'16 patched) or Full Ace Tennis Simulator.
A combination of chess and war... cartoon style.
Worms Ultimate Mayhem Deluxe Edition (PC/PSN), Worms Collection (PS3, X360)
A tweaked version of Worms 4 Mayhem with some Worms 3D missions added.
Worms 3D is better than Worms 4. The projectiles are affected more by gravity / wind in Worms 3D and the missions are also more memorable. Unlike the PS2 version, the PC version doesn't have vibration, but you can add Map Pack V4 to it for hundreds of maps and widescreen. The lack of vibration is a major shortcoming though. I think the Xbox version also lacked vibration.
Good controls with perfect wheelspin/grip levels.
Use the Mega Drive version with Fusion on PC and Micro Machines '96 for custom tracks.
The original PC version has the construction kit but dull graphics and the Special Edition has compatibility issues (issues can be fixed by adding the extras to the standard game).
PS2 (PGEN) version is only 2-player.
Alternative: Mashed (PS2, PC, XBOX). Mashed Fully Loaded has tight controls, but the original handling makes for a more exiting game.

Tiger Woods 2005 is arcade-like and Tiger Woods '12 is more realistic.
Tiger Woods 2005 (PC): Has legendary players, course editing (to make the game more
challenging) and the PC version has legacy courses (importing courses from older games).
It also has 3-click swing which is more exciting than stick-swing, but no power/spin
or vibration.
**Needs fix for vids on some GPUs, widescreen fixes are available.**
**Free custom made courses can be downloaded and added to PC versions til TW'08.**
For the best one player experience you can add Tiger Woods 2004 on PS2. It had more
courses than TW'05(PS2), the best soundtrack and the best career mode.
Tiger Woods '12 (PS3/X360): It had 20 extra DLC courses, the Masters and 3-click swing.
You can turn off the caddy. (The PC version was just the browser based online game.)
If you prefer analogue swing then you can go for TW'14HE instead.

I could mention games like Steep GE, Coolboarders 3 and Amped 2 here but they all fall far short of the mighty SSX3.
Skateboarding games: Tony Hawk's Underground (has LAN)
If you are looking for the best 1-player Tony Hawk game then THUG1 is what you want. It had 3 secret levels and 3 unreleased levels. The PC version was only released in Australia/New Zealand and its video/audio was heavily compressed. The Xbox video/audio files have since been converted for PC. The ultimate mod for it will be Underground+ v1.9, if it ever gets released.
For the best multiplayer Tony Hawk game you will need the THUG Pro mod for THUG2 on PC.
